Ombre Thanks

Aloha everyone and thanks for stopping by!  Today was the first day my preschooler didn't cry after dropping him off.  So in turn I course after I left his class and behind sunglasses so nobody could tease me.  It's been almost a month since the kids have been in school and only now do I feel we are getting into a routine.

Anywho on to my card which was inspired by this week's Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab World.
It looks soooo delicious and I'm not quite sure I could eat something this beautiful...even if I was starving.

Sooooo pretty!  Not quite sure my card has the same elegance, but I did use the ombre look and the butterfly in my design.

I needed a card for my patient that moved back to the mainland (that's what we call it here in Hawaii, haha).  She was so sweet and sent me an update on her move and some souvenirs from her hometown.  Love that my job connects me with such thoughtful people. Also going to enter this in the AEI(heart)U Challenge using the sketch.

That's it for me!  Have a great Wednesday!!

Across the Miles

I've had my Colorado family on my mind a lot these past few weeks, just missing my Colorado sister and longing to go on vacation!  I wanted to play with a few of my Fresh Squeezed Stamps that I have not inked up yet and came up with this little scene.  I truly wish I was on that airplane!

Fresh Squeezed Stamps The Envelope Please, FSS Weather Through, FSS Background check, Sizzix Frame Die, Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and Danube Blue, Distress Ink in Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass, Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folder, Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder

I went with shades of blue to enter the Tuesday Trigger: I'm craving Navy

I loved the frames sitting on the shelf which inspired me to frame my scene.  Do you like that little piece of "water" by the homes...I love how distress inks react with water!  I've also made the scene monochromatic to enter this weeks Simon Says Challenge as well.

Mahalo for stopping by...have a great rest of your week!

Peaceful Thanksgiving

Is it only Wednesday?  It's been one of those weeks where work has been draining...booooo!  So when I get in this funk I have to force myself to think of the brighter side.  #1 I'm definitely grateful to have a job and #2 I couldn't see myself doing anything else...well...I could see myself crafting all day, but that wouldn't pay the bills...hehehe.

Anyway I wanted to enter the next Pinspired Challenge.  Here's my card...

Avery Elle Oh Happy Day, Memento Inks in Bahama Blue, Tangelo, Teal Zeal, Rosebud, Pear Tart and Tuxedo Black, Studio Calico wood veneer birds, ribbon, Crate Paper On Trend, Copic marker

This card was initially sent in for publication, but didn't make the cut so now I can share it with blogland!

I thought the birds, colors and foliage were pretty similar to the inspiration photo.  The actual design was inspired by a shirt my daughter wore one day that had all these elements in a peace sign.  Hope you like it.  I had fun stamping it out!

P.S. I'm also thinking of entering this in the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger: I'm Craving Navy as it does have some navy elements and white with linear lines like the photo below

As always MAHALO for stopping by!

Craft Dash Birthday!

Aloha everyone and happy Saturday!  I've been dying to try the 10 minute Craft Dash but just thinking of being timed makes me SUPER nervous. Paulina had some awesome ideas on how to make it work, but still...could I really do this?!?

I'm still trembling from finishing this card in 8 minutes 38 seconds! Even though I got out supplies I thought I'd use, I only ended up using a very small portion of it...LOL.  Next time I think less options is better.  Here's the finished product

Lawn Fawn Belinda's Borders, LF So Much To Say, LF Year Three, LF Hats Off to You, Hero Arts Brush Strokes, Memento Inks in Rose Bud, Tangelo, Bahama Blue and Tuxedo Black
Check out that mess...LOL...that was the best part about this challenge.  It left me with a great excuse for being messy!!!  It's pretty liberating to be done with a card in less than 10 minutes.  Mahalo for stopping by!

Cloudy Skies

Happy Wednesday everyone!  It's my day off and I've got a ton of errands to run, but not before I enter the newest challenge on the block...Seize the Sketch

I loved the angle, but couldn't figure out keeping the lines.  Everything I tried from washi tape to border stamps...for some reason just didn't feel right.  I decided to turn the sketch upside down and the light bulb came on!  Here's what I came up with...

Fresh Squeezed Stamps Weather Through, Darice Lattice Embossing Folder, Memento Ink in Danube Blue, Dandelion, London Fog and Tuxedo Black, ColorBox Sky Blue ink, American Crafts Soho Garden Pattern Paper

Here's the sketch...

Thanks for stopping by.  Come back tomorrow where I'll have another post with Paper Made Bakery
as this month's Guest Designer!

Getting into the routine

Hello...I'm writing quickly since it's getting late and I wanted to get some kind of crafting time in.  So the kiddos are officially on a schedule, but I'm exhausted!  As I'm putting the kids to bed I'm ready to join  I'm thinking it's an emotional kind of exhaustion with my kids growing up and my son not so excited to go to preschool.  I'm hanging in there though and reminding myself that this phase will pass...cross my fingers.

I wanted to join the next Lawnscaping Challenge: One Layer using inspiration of colors and pattern from the next Runway Inspired Challenge

Lawn Fawn Summertime Charm, LF Sophie's Sentiments, LF Bannerific, LF Belinda's Borders, Memento Inks in Rose Bud, Lilac Posies, Grape Jelly, London Fog and Tuxedo Black, Color Box ink in Bubblegum

Talk about a challenge because I had to stop myself from adding rhinestones or twine!  I used the negative space of a die cut flower as a mask and stamped away, also masking off the banner. Framed everything using LFs Belinda's Borders and there you have it...a one layer card!

 Here's the RIC photo...
