Picking Up the Pieces Vol. 12: Love Potion

Each weekend I wonder how Monday arrives soooo quickly...not to mention we are in February already!  So for today's post it's another Valentine's card using inspiration from the Fusion Card Challenge
and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Twine

I just found out that the hubby was keeping some Lawn Fawn goodies from me!  I couldn't believe it, but apparently he was waiting til Valentine's Day, but over heard me ooo-ing and aah-ing over some sweet cards using this fun set.  He decided Valentine's would come early so I could start playing....thank you hubby!

Lawn Fawn Science of Love with matching dies, Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die, Lawn Trimmings, Copics, Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, Distress Markers, Jessica Swift Blomma pattern paper, DCWV Glitz Glitter Matstack

I went with the card sketch...no surprise...hehe

I love those little beakers and added some lashes and Wink of Stella in clear to the "girl" beaker.  I had a few requests from my guy co-workers for some Valentine's cards, so I'm building up my stash for them to choose.  I think it's so sweet they ask me every year to go through my cards. What's even sweeter is their ladies request for it over a store bought card...cute eh?!  Hope you all have a great week!

Mahalo for stopping by.  I so appreciate it!

I like mine...crispy!

A quick mahalo to everyone that has been hopping along and leaving sweet comments for our first ever Kitty Bee Designs Blog Hop!  If you haven't had the chance yet, go check it out...I guarantee it'll have you smiling!

A little tidbit about myself...I'm a huge breakfast fan.  I could eat breakfast items for lunch and dinner and be totally happy and content.  Of course my favorite breakfast item...bacon!  I prefer my bacon crispy and when I started to ink up this fun Paper Smooches set I had a ton of fun mixing and matching ink colors and paper to create the perfect bacon for my card...one with crisp edges...hehe

Ta da....

Paper Smooches Calorie Free, Lawn Trimmings, Lawn Cuts Circle Dies, Sizzix embossing folder, Darice Notebook paper embossing folder, Memento Inks in Peanut Brittle, Rich Cocoa and Lady Bug, My Clever Creations homemade button

I followed this week's Freshly Made Sketches

And since I used twine it will also be entered in Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge: Use Twine

Off to go prep for the big game tomorrow... GO BRONCOS!!

"If God's not a Broncos fan why did he make sunsets Blue and Orange?"

Seriously I'm not that big into football, but feel a little obligated since Colorado is my second home ;-)
Have a great weekend!

A Fun Card for Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

Today I wanted to share a card that I made for the next Simon Says Wednesday Challenge, and hope it gives you a little chuckle!

The idea came from the hubby which reminded him of the Karate Kid movie...remember that way back when?!

Lawn Fawn On the Mend, Lawn Fawn Good Fortune, Lawn Fawn Summertime Charm with matching die, Memento inks in Tuxedo Black and Lady Bug

I've mentioned before that the hubby always has these wild ideas for card designs and it's up to me to figure out how to get it on a card.  It all started with just the chopsticks and the bug, but of course I couldn't stop there so that's when the target and woodgrain came in.  Thought it could work for a masculine card too and since it is cold and flu season building up my stash!  The nurse in me wants to make sure you all are staying hydrated, washing your hands and staying healthy.  Hugs to you all for stopping by!

Picking Up the Pieces Monday Vol. 3

Wow...Monday already!?  Hope everyone has recovered from the turkey/food coma and ready to start the week.  As Christmas quickly approaches I've been trying to get a bunch of projects done.  Today I have a cute little paper pieced tag using Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Forest tree stamp and die...

The tree stamp was inked up 3 times on Lawn Fawn Fa La La pattern paper and then adhered with foam tape for a more layered look.  The base of the tag was die cut with a top fold to create a card-like tag to write a message on the inside.

Added some multicolored sequins and Lawn Fawn Peppermint Lawn Trimmings and there ya have it!

This will be entered in Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes! and Lawnscaping Challenge: Tags

Mahalo for stopping by!

Using Distress Glitter...again!

Aloha friends!  I'm quickly hopping in to share this card that I'm wanting to enter into a couple of challenges.  Thanks so much for your kind words from my other post.  I've overcome the cold and crossing my fingers the kids continue to stay in good health.  It always seems so hard to keep them from getting colds this time of year!

So here's the card...

Y'all know how much I love my distress glitter, so here I went at it again using a background stamp from Hero Arts.  I got these cute wooden "book labels" (I think that's what they were called) bought in the bargain bin at Archiver's and used that to frame my sentiment.

The sketch I followed from CASE(E) this Sketch

and since the Simon Says Challenge for Wednesday was Thanks/Thankgiving I'll be entering that as well.

All right back to work I go since I'm on call.  Mahalo for stopping by!

Blest...

I've come down with some kind of cold because my kids always say "sharing is caring" and they decided to share their lovely cold with me...so sweet of them eh?!  I can't complain though because I was still able to craft and join this week's Freshly Made Sketches.  I've been feeling truly blest (I'll have to explain more when I can post some pics) the last couple of days so I wanted my card to show just that!

Kitty Bee Design Lady Frogs, Lawn Fawn Cole's ABCs, Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic PP, Darice Embossing Folder, Distress Markers

Here's the sketch...

It's been a true blessing to work with Kitty Bee Designs and love the fact that the owner asked for me to make some sample projects to be displayed at all of the Ben Franklin stores on Oahu!  What an honor!  I'll definitely have to post some pics once the display is up or if you're on Oahu you can see it in person at your nearest Ben Franklin store in the next couple of weeks.

I've also incorporated some dots and will enter this in Simon Says Stamps Wednesday Challenge: Dotty

That's it for me.  Gonna try to rest up!  Have a great day and mahalo for stopping by!!

Across the Miles

I've had my Colorado family on my mind a lot these past few weeks, just missing my Colorado sister and longing to go on vacation!  I wanted to play with a few of my Fresh Squeezed Stamps that I have not inked up yet and came up with this little scene.  I truly wish I was on that airplane!

Fresh Squeezed Stamps The Envelope Please, FSS Weather Through, FSS Background check, Sizzix Frame Die, Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black and Danube Blue, Distress Ink in Salty Ocean, Faded Jeans and Tumbled Glass, Lifestyle Crafts Embossing Folder, Versamark, Clear Embossing Powder

I went with shades of blue to enter the Tuesday Trigger: I'm craving Navy

I loved the frames sitting on the shelf which inspired me to frame my scene.  Do you like that little piece of "water" by the homes...I love how distress inks react with water!  I've also made the scene monochromatic to enter this weeks Simon Says Challenge as well.

Mahalo for stopping by...have a great rest of your week!

More to Love!
