Stampin' for Moxie Fab World Challenge: Constellations

YES the week is almost over!  I just LOVE my weekends...especially if I'm not oncall.  This weekend is going to be filled with fun times from the hubby's birthday to SUPER BOWL....gooooo Broncos!

On to my card for the latest Moxie Fab World Challenge: Constellations

I got out the ol' Martha Stewart border punch to make a strip for the sentiment that was heat embossed in silver.  The background was simply made with an embossing foler and stamped with some Lawn Fawn stars.

Here's another card with a cute Kitty Bee Designs image

This is one of the cards that's up at all the Ben Franklin's on Oahu.  Thought it was simple enough to make multiples of and one of my favorite go-to card design/layout.

That's it for me!  Mahalo for stopping by!!

Designer Spotlight for Kitty Bee Designs

Aloha and welcome to my Designer Spotlight post for Kitty Bee Designs!  I'm so fortunate to have gotten to know the creative artist behind these super cute images.  On occasion we get to see the rough sketch and it amazes me how the images evolve and come out to adorable stamps and digis that you can't help playing around with.  You can find tons of images (both clear stamps and digis) at the Kitty Bee Designs Etsy store...so go take a look!

Inspired by Sweet Sunday Sketch

These little froggies just make me smile and I ended up white heat embossing them to make them more whimsical.  I stamped them to hold hands and added some googly eyes...one with lashes to create a cute little froggy couple!

I've been playing more with my gelatos and got this kinda cool outlined look to my sentiment.

Of course if you have any questions on this card (or any of my other projects) you can e-mail me or leave a comment below.  I love chatting!  Have a great day!

P.S.-  I also have a tab at the top with more Kitty Bee Design Love if you'd like to check that out as well...it's guaranteed to make you smile!

Picking Up the Pieces Vol. 11 Bunny Love

Hello there!  I'm back again on Monday to share another paper pieced card using this really cute Kitty Bee Design image.  A little secret...there's new release digis over at the Etsy website that are sooooo adorably cute and perfect for your Valentine's Day projects.  I hope you'll get a chance to check them out!

Back to my card...using the next Seize the Sketch

and my take on it...

One of my favorite dies to use around Valentine's Day is the Lifestyle Crafts Nesting Lace Hearts.  I added some Lawn Trimmings cord threaded around the heart to make a bow.  The cord was actually dyed in Memento reinker Lulu Lavender to bring out the slight lavender in the pattern paper.

That's it for me!  Mahalo for stopping by!

A Fun Card for Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

Today I wanted to share a card that I made for the next Simon Says Wednesday Challenge, and hope it gives you a little chuckle!

The idea came from the hubby which reminded him of the Karate Kid movie...remember that way back when?!

Lawn Fawn On the Mend, Lawn Fawn Good Fortune, Lawn Fawn Summertime Charm with matching die, Memento inks in Tuxedo Black and Lady Bug

I've mentioned before that the hubby always has these wild ideas for card designs and it's up to me to figure out how to get it on a card.  It all started with just the chopsticks and the bug, but of course I couldn't stop there so that's when the target and woodgrain came in.  Thought it could work for a masculine card too and since it is cold and flu season building up my stash!  The nurse in me wants to make sure you all are staying hydrated, washing your hands and staying healthy.  Hugs to you all for stopping by!

Picking Up the Pieces Monday Vol. 10: Playing with Gelatos!

Another Monday dedicated to sharing projects that are paper pieced, fussy cut or have pattern play.  Today I'm sharing a "dreamy" card which I thought perfect to celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr Day.

This was a fun one playing with some stencils, gelatos and the next Retrosketches

I went with a subtle look for the background to create the square-ish pieces.  I tried all kinds of pattern papers and in the end decided to go with a stencil...

Lawn Fawn Flutter By, Tim Holtz Bubble stencil, Gelatos in Margarita and Watermelon, Derwent Inktense watercolor pencils, white embossing powder, Hero Arts India Ink Black, American Crafts Kraft cardstock

This is my first time playing with gelatos and I must say the colors are GORGEOUS on colored cardstock.  I love the vibrancy and ease of use.  The shading in the bloom was so easy to do using the gelatos...I'll definitely be playing with more of these and need to start collecting more colors!

Mahalo for stopping by and hope your three day weekend is filled with lots of crafting and fun!!!

Picking Up the Pieces Monday Vol. 9: Make your own pattern paper

It's Monday again and I'm playing with the next Seize the Sketch shown below...

Loved the simplicity of it and perfect to make a bunch of cards to send out on Valentine's Day!

Fresh Squeezed Stamps The Envelope Please, Fresh Squeezed Stamps Say Anything, Memento Luxe ink in Angel Pink and Love Letter, Hero Arts Shadow ink in Red Royal, Avery Elle Berry Blend Sequins

I decided to make my own pattern paper stamping out the xo's in a chevron like pattern then cutting out the banner.  Added a couple of kisses and sentiment and there ya have it!

Here's to wishing you a simple and sweet Monday...kinda like the card!

Lawn Fawn Birthday Fun!

So I survived Monday and wanted to dive into 2 challenges!  Still feeling the crafty mojo I used Retro Sketches to make this fun card filled with Lawn Fawn goodness.

The sketch...

and my card...

Lawn Fawn Year Three, Lawn Fawn A Birdie Told Me with matching die, Lawn Trimmings, Lawn Fawn circle and scalloped circle stackables, Lawn Fawn Into the Woods Petite Paper Pack, Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black, Hero Arts Shadow ink in Orange Soda, atYouSpica glitter pens

Lawnscaping Challenge is celebrating their 4th birthday so of course I had to make a birthday card...party style!

Finally started using the Lawn Fawn Into the Woods petite paper pack for all those fun patterns and paper pieced the cakes.  The pack has some cute speech bubbles too, so I fussy cut the tiny ones out and then made my own to hold the "smile" sentiment that was white heat embossed.

And now my bed is calling me...haha...MAHALO for stopping by!

Picking Up the Pieces Vol. 8 Peeking Blooms

Happy Monday!  Finally getting back into the swing of things around here.  The kids are back to school today and it's back to our old routine.  As much as I think routine can be mundane, sometimes it's the only way to keep our sanity around here...lol

I played with this fun Paper Smooches die and will be entering the next Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge

I always need a stash of get well soon cards...it's just the business I'm in ;o)

Paper Smooches Get Well Phrase die, Paper Smooches Calico, Paper Smooches Bold Blooms, Hero Arts Shadow inks in Pale Tomato, Stone Wash an Tide Pool

I'm pretty smitten with this fabulously sized die so this will also be entered in the Curtain Call Challenge

Wishing you all a great week...and mahalo for stopping by!

Happy Birthday to my Dad

Hope everyone's weekend is off to a good start!  For me the weekend couldn't come soon enough...it was tough going back to work for 2 more days...hehe.

My dad is celebrating his birthday on Sunday.  I'd put his age, but he might not be so happy with that.  You can certainly take a wild guess...haha!  He's a simple guy so I went with a pretty simple card.  All he asked for was a day of relaxing at home to watch football so my mom and I will do the cooking and my hubby will make him his favorite dessert...peanut butter cookies and chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter buttercream frosting.  We're not really PB fans, but my dad loves anything PB so it's his 1 day he indulges in the nutty stuff!

Here's his card using the next CAS(E) this Sketch...

Lawn Fawn Year One, Lawn Fawn Belinda's Borders, Hero Arts Shadow inks in Tide Pool and Soft Granite, Hero Arts Neon Blue Ink, Hero Arts Dauber in Tide Pool, White embossing powder, American Crafts Pool cardstock

You know how I LOVE sketches!

I was inspired by Jennifer McGuire's post with embossing and using dots and I recently completed my Lawn Fawn "Year" collection so I needed to ink it up!

That's it for me.  Mahalo for stopping by!!

More to Love!
