Oh Happy Day with Lawn Fawn...and a request!

I have so much news to share I'm bursting at the seams!  First my daughter's artwork was selected and we need your help voting!  If you could take a minute to click on the link and vote for her artwork we would be so honored.  I'm already the proudest momma that she even got chosen.  She comes up with some pretty unique ideas and I hope she continues to dream, and maybe make a few of those dreams come true no matter how crazy they seem to us adults! Jubilee Garcia's Dream Car Artwork

Now on to my card following the latest Seize the Sketch...

Lawn Fawn Penelope's Blossoms, Lawn Fawn FlutterBy, Lawn Fawn Starry Backdrops, Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine paper pad, Lawn Fawn Coral Lawn trimmings, Hero Hues Unicorn ink, Hero Arts Shadow inks in Pale Tomato, Green Hills, Orange Soda, Butter Bar, Tide Pool and India Ink Black

And the sketch...

Fun right?!  I paper pieced the butterfly and used the Lawn Trimmings as the trail of the butterfly.  The Penelope's Blossoms were inked in Unicorn pigment ink and then double stamped with the matching individual flowers in colored inks.  I'm IN LOVE with the Penelope's Blossom set and there are matching dies to make all kinds of patterns or bouquets!  I'll be entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge as well.

Here's a closeup...

The hubby surprised me with a bunch of goodies from Lawn Fawn's new release so stay tuned!

Mahalo for stopping by!!!

Picking Up the Pieces Vol. 15 A Shaped Card

Hello.  Today I was inspired by this sweet little gift my coworker gave me for Christmas.

I'm super surprised that it has even lasted this long because I'm not known for having a green thumb!

I love this terrarium...totally low maintenance and just gorgeous!

So Avery Elle has this fun stamp set which is totally fun to stamp out and thought I'd enter in the AEIHeartUChallenge

It's not my typical colorful and sparkly birthday card, but I'm trying to make some gender neutral card.

Avery Elle Bottle It Up, Hero Art Shadow Inks in Passion Flower, Green Hills, Field Greens and Soft Granite, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and Potter's Clay, raffia

I love the idea of using the die shape to create the bottle shaped card.  Easily done by doing a partial die cut on the fold of a card.  The stamp set comes with all those fun plants and rocks and the little cork top too!  I just tied some raffia for fun and popped up the label with some foam tape.

Here's another look...

So that's it for me!  Have a great week and mahalo for stopping by!!

Encouragement with an Oldie but Goodie

Hello there!  I'm back with another card for the next Lawnscaping Challenge: Dust 'em Off.  I recently adopted this cute little set...

And as you all know I love paper piecing!  Another fun tidbit (because I couldn't find the right shade of yellow twine) was to take Lawn Trimmings in natural and color it up with copics.  I literally just zipped the hemp cord using the chisel side of the copic marker, and within seconds had the perfect shade I needed!  Now I need to buy more natural colored Lawn Trimmings!  I played around and also colored a rainbow one...

             SWEET RIGHT?!

I'm gonna have to find a project to put that on soon!
Ok back to my card using this week's Freshly Made Sketches...

Ta da...

Lawn Fawn Make Lemonade, Lawn Trimmings, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Studio Calico Snippets Paper Pad, copics

Sometimes my patients don't need a get well card, but more of an encouragement card...I thought something like this would be perfect.

That's it for me!   I hope you're all having a fabulous week!  Mahalo for stopping by!!!

Picking Up the Pieces Vol. 14: Rainbows and Sequins!

Having a good weekend so far?  Yay for the 3 day weekend and being able to continue some quality crafting time!  Today's card has two of my favorite things...RAINBOWS and SEQUINS.  Entering this card in
A Blog Named Hero: ROYGBIV

I was inspired by Retro Sketches

And my card...

Hero Arts You're A Rainbow, Avery Elle sequins, Crate Paper Maggie Holmes, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, My Favorite Things Rainbow die-namics

The cloud pattern paper totally made this card super quick...I kept trying various ideas like cloud embossing, then stamping and decided to just go with this look.  That's it for me today!  Mahalo for stopping by!!

A Butterfly Hello on Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day!  Before I get to today's card I wanted to share these cute hand knit monkeys my mom whipped up for my son to pass out to his classmates...

Thank goodness my husband volunteered to put together all the goodie pails for both kids.  He was once told by his family that he "wraps better than Santa's elves."  I agree because he made them look so festive!

And here's the reason for these festive pails...

Sibling love!

Now on to my card...

Hero Arts Butterflies CG130, Tim Holtz Burlap Stencil, Gelatos, Avery Elle Bottle It Up, Sizzix Embossing Folder, We R Memory Keepers washi tape, Kraft cardstock, Hero Arts India Ink Black

I was inspired by the next Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Get Krafty and the photo and sketch on Fusion Card Challenge

Here's a closeup...

I also wanted to enter the next Moxie Fab Challenge: Happy for Hexagons but could you believe I do not own one hexagon stamp or die?!  I kept thinking I could use my e-clips to cut some hexagons, but found this cool washi tape in my stash.  Hoping it counts ;o)!!

So that's it!  I'm totally excited to have a 3 day weekend!!!  Mahalo for stopping by.

Picking Up the Pieces Monday Vol. 13: Quicky Note Cards

Hello there!  I started making a card for the next CAS(E) this Sketch and couldn't believe how quickly it came together.  Some simple masking, stenciling and stamping and I was done! The beautiful bloom was simply colored in by stamping Hero Arts brush strokes in various sizes.  This will also be entered in A Blog Named Hero: Flowers

Following this sketch...

Here's my card...

Hero Arts Classic Bloom, Hero Arts Brush Strokes, Hero Arts CL 342, Tim Holtz Bubble Stencil, Hero Arts Shadow inks in Green Hills, Bubble Gum, Pale Tomato and Red Royal, Hero Hues India Ink Black

Because this came together so quickly I decided to get some more ink colors and make a set of cards.

Ta da!  There ya have a one layered card with not much effort at all.  Here's to a great week ahead.  Mahalo for stopping by!!!

Picking Up the Pieces Vol. 12: Love Potion

Each weekend I wonder how Monday arrives soooo quickly...not to mention we are in February already!  So for today's post it's another Valentine's card using inspiration from the Fusion Card Challenge
and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge: Twine

I just found out that the hubby was keeping some Lawn Fawn goodies from me!  I couldn't believe it, but apparently he was waiting til Valentine's Day, but over heard me ooo-ing and aah-ing over some sweet cards using this fun set.  He decided Valentine's would come early so I could start playing....thank you hubby!

Lawn Fawn Science of Love with matching dies, Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die, Lawn Trimmings, Copics, Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, Distress Markers, Jessica Swift Blomma pattern paper, DCWV Glitz Glitter Matstack

I went with the card sketch...no surprise...hehe

I love those little beakers and added some lashes and Wink of Stella in clear to the "girl" beaker.  I had a few requests from my guy co-workers for some Valentine's cards, so I'm building up my stash for them to choose.  I think it's so sweet they ask me every year to go through my cards. What's even sweeter is their ladies request for it over a store bought card...cute eh?!  Hope you all have a great week!

Mahalo for stopping by.  I so appreciate it!

I like mine...crispy!

A quick mahalo to everyone that has been hopping along and leaving sweet comments for our first ever Kitty Bee Designs Blog Hop!  If you haven't had the chance yet, go check it out...I guarantee it'll have you smiling!

A little tidbit about myself...I'm a huge breakfast fan.  I could eat breakfast items for lunch and dinner and be totally happy and content.  Of course my favorite breakfast item...bacon!  I prefer my bacon crispy and when I started to ink up this fun Paper Smooches set I had a ton of fun mixing and matching ink colors and paper to create the perfect bacon for my card...one with crisp edges...hehe

Ta da....

Paper Smooches Calorie Free, Lawn Trimmings, Lawn Cuts Circle Dies, Sizzix embossing folder, Darice Notebook paper embossing folder, Memento Inks in Peanut Brittle, Rich Cocoa and Lady Bug, My Clever Creations homemade button

I followed this week's Freshly Made Sketches

And since I used twine it will also be entered in Simon Says Anything Goes Challenge: Use Twine

Off to go prep for the big game tomorrow... GO BRONCOS!!

"If God's not a Broncos fan why did he make sunsets Blue and Orange?"

Seriously I'm not that big into football, but feel a little obligated since Colorado is my second home ;-)
Have a great weekend!

More to Love!
