On a Roll

The pressure is on to make a card worthy of being in the Lawn Fawn booth at CHA and their catalog!  I just had to showcase the Hats Off to You in some way and this is what I came up with!

When I first saw the stamp set it reminded me of those fun hat racks you see in party stores with all the cool fun hats to dress up in.  My kids love to dress up and this was my source of inspiration.

I used a Sizzix die that is actually a lamp post and decided to make a hat rack out of it.  Then I stamped, colored and cut each hat out.  Of course it's not a crown or birthday hat without some sparkle so I added stickles to those hats.  Unfortunately I'm not a great photographer, but hopefully I captured some sparkle!

The sentiment is from the help of my hubby using the Harold's ABC set.  The dots are actually from Lawn Fawn's A Sweet Christmas.  To bring the entire card together I finished the edges with a rainbow of inks because we all know how much Kelly Marie loves her rainbows!

And for the inside of the card!  I had to have the top hat that appears to be bursting with the birthday sentiment and confetti swirls from A Sweet Christmas.  I sprayed the entire inside with Shimmer Mist and LOVED how it looked.  Hope its festiveness (is that a word?) brings a few giggles to your day!

Going for it!

I was soooo excited to hear that Lawn Fawn was asking their fans to do a challenge for a chance to be published in their catalog...gasp!  Could this be true?!?  I was excited and nervous and excited...but wasn't sure I had what it takes to actually submit a Lawn Fawn card.  I've seen a lot of awesome and amazing stamp work from their design team and all the other members of the papercrafting community...should I accept the challenge and face my fears?  hmmm...
After much tossing and turning I said what the heck!  Here is what I came up with...

Lawn Fawn's Critters of the Sea is my favorite and the adorable hats from their Hats Off to You set just adds another degree of cuteness.  I love shaker cards!  So I thought the whale's thought bubbles would be awesome to make ocean shakers!  I used microbeads in clear and wave in the shakers.  Another love...googly eyes...the whale and hermit crab were perfect for them!  Each character was stamped, colored and cut out and the ocean was done using Distress Inks in shades of colors.  So off I go to submit it!

Getting Started

So I have been completely inspired by the paper crafting community! I've found so much joy in paper crafting and thought it would be nice to have a place for me to collect and share projects.  I've waited so long to start a blog...just doubting my craftiness, but have come to the realization that it's ok to not be perfect and it's all about having fun! So for my first post wanted to share...

Santa's Ride

I'm quite proud of this little thing.  Wanted to come up with a party favor that you couldn't just get from a cartridge.  Played around a bit with the e-cal software and with the help of the hubby got this cut out!  These will be passed out to my daughter's class...hope they like it!

Here's the finished product!  I decided to change Santa's sack to red, and place in a clear box to keep the intricate sled safe.  Of course it's not a gift without a cute little tag stamped with Santa!

More to Love!
