New Challenge over at a2z Scrapbooking

Aloha friends!  Hope your weekend is going well and you're finding lots of time to craft.

We are starting a new challenge up over at a2z Scrapbooking: CAS (Clean and Simple).

CAS can be a challenge for me, but this sweet Hero Arts Pinata needed to be the star of my card!  I used colored embossing powders (Zing! Embossing Powder in Rouge, Apricot, Butter, Leaf and Wave) to create a rainbow and then cut out coordinating cardstock to matte the image.

I love the Hero Arts Pinata wood mount because you can use it for so many types of celebrations like birthday, congrats and even just encouragement!  Today I paired it with a birthday sentiment from Hero Arts Balloon Animal Birthday..

I hope you'll join the fun over at a2z Scrapbooking for your chance to win a $25 gift certificate to the store!!  Mahalo for stopping by.

Keeping it CAS for A Blog Named Hero

Aloha friends!
A Blog Named Hero has a new challenge that starts today.

Here's the card...

This month we're collaborating with

and I got to play with the cute set Send Pretty Mail.

I tried to keep a lot of white space and create a crisp edge
with masking an oval die.

I first stamped the sentiment from Hero Arts Friends by Lia, then
stamped those pretty flowers (colored with copics) from Neat and Tangled all around the edges.
To give a more defined edge I used a round blending tool for some green shading.
The panel was then adhered to Hero Arts Sunshine Layering paper.
I love Hero Arts cardstock (nice and sturdy) with a white finished inside perfect for letter writing!

I love challenges because it gets me out of my comfort zone!
I hope you'll join us for your chance to win a

Hello Sunshine: CAS style

It's Tuesday already and I completely let the weekend get away from me without any crafting!  BOO! I'm hoping this week to put in a little more craft time...starting today!

I wanted to play along with the next Lawnscaping Challenge: CAS.

Here's my card...

Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine, Lawn Fawn Let's Roll, Lawn Cuts Scripty Hello, Lawn Ornaments Hello Sunshine, Lawn Ornaments Peace, Joy Love,
Memento Summer Sky Ink, Cantaloupe and Tuxedo Black Ink, Hero Arts Butter Bar

Do you like my sun as the "O"?!  Since having this stamp set and die I've been wanting to do that.  Didn't have the complete WOW factor like it did in my head...lol...but thought it was still pretty cute and of course I had to add a touch of Hawaii and added a sequin flower to her ear.  I wanted the die cut hello to have a little yellow shadowing and didn't want the word to be too bold with the stamped sun.  This took me the longest to figure out, and in the end decided to color it up with my sponge dauber for a more "cloud-like" effect.

Ok that's it for me...catch ya again soon!

Mahalo for stopping by!!

More to Love!
