Wish Big with Avery Elle and a GIVEAWAY!

As promised this is what I was working on...
Head towards the bottom for details on my giveaway!

I've had the Avery Elle Ellie stamp set sitting on my desk for a while.
Do you do that?
I find that if I put new purchases away I forget to use them!
So I end up with a pile on my desk which forces me to play,
then I can put them away.

I took the dies from the Avery Elle Finished Frame Die set
to create a starry card panel...

See those stars? With my smaller dies I tend not to cut them a part.
I've always loved the look of those panel die cuts that have either falling hearts
or stars, but they can be a bit pricey.
I decided to use the stars on my card panel and die cut twice to create
my own starry background.  I used some distress inks in
chipped sapphire, faded jeans, salty ocean and tumbled glass for an ombre look.

Behind the card panel I smooshed some Versamark and sprinkled with
Judikins Egyptian Gold embossing powder, then heated for some sparkle.
That sweet elephant and stary balloon was watercolored with distress markers,
then die cut and adhered with foam tape.  For even more sparkle I splattered some
Wink of Stella in clear glitter...love how it reacts with distress inks!

I wanted to play along with the latest

and

Hope you all are having a great weekend!

The Happenings...

Aloha dear friends!
I've been on a little break with a few scheduled postings
as we just got back from our trip to Colorado.
Time flew by (doesn't it always when you're having fun)!

One of the highlights of our trip...
I met up with the awesomely talented, sweet and gorgeous

LOVE this gal!!!

I also did quite a bit of shopping...

Everything seen here was either on sale or I had a coupon for.
Gotta love a good deal...or two...or three...

I celebrated my birthday prior to leaving for Colorado
and because my birthday was on Easter the hubby gathered an Easter basket for me!

So now it's back to the daily grind.
I'm actually oncall this weekend but managed to squeeze in a bit of crafty fun...
My next post will be up shortly with a
GIVEAWAY!  Stay tuned!!

Design Team Spotlight for Kitty Bee Designs

Happy Aloha Saturday!
If you're stopping by from
WELCOME!
If you're a regular...MAHALO
for coming back!!

On to today's card...

I was going for an Easter themed card,
but quickly realized I may not get it out in time, so
I decided to change the sentiment to something a bit more general ;o)
The sentiment was die cut from
 Penny Black's Words of Gratitude.
If you've been following my blog you'll know I've been obsessed with
Deco Foil and you can see my VIDEO HERE and HERE.

I used some American Crafts Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic pattern paper,
with a that fabulous rainbow washi tape up the side.
The Kitty Bee Design Bun was colored with Tombow markers
and a blender for a watercolor look.

I think you can see the foil shine better in the above picture.
I think the muted background helps balance the colored image, rainbow washi
and that bit of color in the banner to tie everything together.
That's it for me!

Aloha Friday Challenge with Kitty Bee Design

Happy Aloha Friday!
Today I'm playing with the
with the theme
EASTER
sponsored by the sweet images from

I have a lot of great childhood memories
of Easter with the family and hope to carry on the
tradition with my kids.  We still do Easter egg hunts
in the same backyard that I did when I was my kids' age!

For today's card I got to play with

In the true spirit of Easter I went with a lot of color!
I printed Amalia out (2x) and die cut her a little off center using the
Avery Elle Finished Frames die.
I then stamped the sweet
I masked both images and used distress inks
to create to colorful background.
I removed the masks and used copic markers to
color the images and create a bit of shadowing on the ground.
I finished off the top corner with a banner die from Lawn Fawn
and stamped out the sentiment on top, then glued to the panel.

So that's it for me!
I hope you'll join us for the challenge.

Light It Up Blue for Autism Awareness Hop

Today is the day!
A HUGE shoutout to
Veronica Zalis and Tenia Nelson for putting this together.
If you're wanting to link up as well
 go HERE

I am super excited to be a part of this fabulous
blog hop in honor of all those that have Autism
or touched by someone who does.

This is my precious goddaughter, Rooke.
She was diagnosed with Classic Autism around the age of one.
Rooke is now 6 years old and loves her iPad and EVERYONE elses!
She is a whiz with all things electronic and loves hugs and kisses.

This card is in honor of her and everything she has taught me
and my entire ohana/family.

Lawn Fawn for Studio Calico Future Is Bright, Lawn Fawn Stitched Scallop Border
Lawn Fawn ink in Deep Sea, copics, Lawn Trimmings, Glossy Accents, Wink of Stella pen in Clear Glitter

Here's a closeup to catch the shine of the bulb in the glossy accents
and Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.

It's hard to tell, but the bulb was colored with copics,
fussy cut and attached with foam tape.
Then I added the glossy accents.

Hope you all continue blog hopping and be sure to link
up if you would like to contribute!

A BIG MAHALO to all our generous sponsors...
