Proud Mama

A quick post to explain where I've been the last few days!  My oldest was in the Aristocats Musical for their summer program and of course she placed her order for an Aristocats themed party favor.  I didn't know where to begin so of course I did some research on a ton of Aristocats images and their main characters and loved their little collars.  I've been busy making 70 favors...with my daughter's help of course!

Just wanted to share a few pics as a proud mama!

They had 2 showings for the evening and she had the part of Slick Cat!  The kids are just soooo adorable!

And for the party favors...

I'm off to getting back on track with entering more challenges!  Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Making the Best of It

It's day 5 of the hubby being away which means not much time to craft, but let me tell you when the kids are finally in bed I WILL make the best of the little time I have to myself!  The next Runway Inspired Challenge had beautiful colors that I would have never thought paired well together.  My challenge was to get it right on the card.  I used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch to help in the design department.

Hero Arts You and Me, Sizzix Embossing Folder, American Crafts Twine, My Clever Creations button, pearl, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, White and gray CS

Here's the sketch...

I used the words to represent the 3 flowers.
And the model...

The color combination comes from RIC and so does the patterns.  I had the perfect button in the perfect shade to represent the model's handbag!  That's it for me...I'm back oncall again so this may be the last post from me til Friday...*sigh.  Hope everyone's week is off to a great start and as always MAHALO for stopping by!

Kitty Bee Designs Challenge #2: Red, White and Blue

Wow what a turnout for our first super fun Kitty Bee Designs Challenge!  I'm back again for our second challenge of the month and hope you'll be inspired to join in with ANY project that is red, white and blue themed.  Here's my sneak peek...

Kitty Bee Design Panda Digi, AC Soho Garden paper pad, AC twine, Stamps of Life minitags2cut, Copic Markers, Lawn Fawn Say Cheese, Copic Markers

I would LOVE it if you stopped by Kitty Bee Designs to check it out!  I promise it'll make you smile!  HAPPY ALOHA FRIDAY!!!

Oh Happy Day!

Oh Happy Day it's Friday!  I survived the first night with the hubby out of town and the kids did pretty well.  Thank goodness for my dad and allowing them to burn some energy right before dinner in the yard.  They were knocked out by 9p which made me one HAPPY mama!!!  Oh the possibilities of playing with my new Avery Elle goodies!  I was recently introduced to Avery Elle stamps and have fallen in love with the Funky Monkey set.

I wanted to join their latest challenge following their sketch.  Here's my take...

Avery Elle Funky Monkey, AE Oh Happy Day, Avery Elle-ments Tags, Amy Tangerine Yes, Please paper pad, Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, My Clever Creations button, raffia, copic markers

I had soooo much fun stamping and fussy cutting everything!  The leaves were from the branch included just colored in and carefully fussy cut and glued to be dimensional.  Isn't that cute little button ADORABLE?!?  I bought them from a fellow bloggy friend that sells handmade buttons and frames and almost didn't use it because I prefer to hoard them!  I finally convinced myself to use just one...hehehe.  You can check out her cute stuff here!
Here's the sketch...
I will also be entering this in CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: Over the Edge as the monkey and banana clusters are "over the edge." And since I'm loving the tag dies from Avery Elle I'll also be entering A Blog Named Hero's Challenge: Tags

P.S.-  I also made these simple cards using AE Oh Happy Day sentiment.  Can you tell AEI{heart}U?!?
They were easy to reproduce in mass quantities as I had an order to fill.  As you can see I like to make all my parts of the card first and then assemble while watching a DVD with the kiddos.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and as always MAHALO for stopping by!

Dimension with Lawn Fawn

Happy Wednesday!  I've got a ton of things on my plate with my hubby going out of town and me turning into a single mom for a week!  Aaaaaah, praying I keep my sanity with work, the kids and many projects that deadlines are fast approaching.

Anywho...I wanted to share a card that I submitted for Paper Crafts Magazine.  Sadly it did not get chosen, but maybe for the next Lawnscaping Challenge: Dimension

Lawn Fawn Critters on the Savannah, LF Sharp Backdrops, LF So Much to Say (sentiment), Matching Lawn Cuts, LF Pink Lemonade paper, LF Fa-la-la paper Jute Ribbon, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Memento Bamboo Leaves Ink, Kraft CS and Ivory CS

Here's the closeup to show the dimension!  It was so much fun to layer pattern paper to really pop up the lion head.  The lion was stamped 3 times to achieve this and popped up!

I loved this jute ribbon I had in my stash but the width was too small so I ended up doubling the width simply by taping them side by side with the sentiment to hide the seam.  I thought it turned out pretty cool what do ya think?

**Sidenote: There's still time to enter Kitty Bee Designs: Aloha Friday Challenge
where any project can be submitted with a Masculine/Father's Day theme.

MAHALO for stopping by!

Flying by

Happy Sunday friends!  Feeling pretty productive this weekend with being oncall and getting some crafting time in thanks to the hubby.  I'm loving this week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge: Mapquest and wanted to add in the theme over at A Blog Named Hero: Tags.  Here's my card incorporating both themes!

Lawn Fawn Flying By with matching Lawn Cuts, Studio Calico Here and There paper pad, Avery Elle-ments Tag die, Memento Rich Cocoa Ink, Aqua twine, pumpkin CS, foam tape

I love to travel and my two favorite states are Colorado (went to college there) and Nevada (because Las Vegas is the 9th Hawaiian Island).  I let the pattern paper kinda do the talkin' and voila!  I hope it appears like the tags are flying in the wind.  That's it for me this weekend, hope y'all had a crafty weekend as well!  As always MAHALO for stopping by!!

Mixy Matchy and Lovin' It!

Over at the Moxie Fab World, Cath is having an AWESOME challenge to mix and match things to make a fabulous project!  This is absolutely my style as I never wear matching socks and adore the quirkiness of the style.

My Colorado sister is having a birthday...I won't embarass her as to what age she is...but her favorite color is purple and mine is yellow and when I saw the next Pinspired Challenge I knew I had to enter!

Lawn Cuts Circle and Scallop Stackables, AC Soho Garden paper pad, SRM sticker for sentiment, Lawn Trimmings hemp

Here's the pinspiration photo...

The purples drew me in along with that fabulous yellow and I decided to make my card flower shaped.  I fussy cut the flowers out of pattern paper and foam taped for dimension.  This really came together pretty quickly and I love how it turned out...mixy-matchy...TOTALLY my style!

Mahalo for stopping by!

Layout #1

Well folks it has been a looooooong few days.  Work had me traveling back and forth daily, catching a 45 minute plane ride to Hilo, and needless to say that really took a toll on me.  It was definitely quite an experience and I truly enjoy training other nurses, but I do not envy those that need to travel daily for business!

I finally feel like I'm catching up and wanted to enter Let's Get Trendy Now 3.  If you have not been following along this awesome group of designers, you must head on over.  They have amazing and inspirational projects (using the latest trends) and it really got me in the mood to get back into scrapbooking!

I had no idea where to begin on coming up with a layout so I decided to use their sketch...

The theme is stitching and since I do not really sew I decided to go with some faux stamp stitches and used some pattern paper that had sentiments that were printed like stitchwork.  Here's some closeups...

Pattern paper packs truly were my friend to help make it come together.  I'm also entering this in Moxie Fab World: the Mixy-Matchy since there was a lot of things going on for the layout!  Thanks for stopping by and have a HAPPY WEDNESDAY!

Kitty Bee Challenge: Father's Day/Masculine Project

Happy Aloha Friday everyone!  I'm super excited to start off our very first Kitty Bee Challenge with a Father's Day/Masculine project.  My dad is always known for coming home after a long days work and needing a snack.  We can never have enough chip clips in our house so I decided to make one for my dad out of a regular clothes pin and embellish it!

Kitty Bee Digi Stamp, Copic Markers, Chocolate hemp cord, clothespin, atyou Spica pens

This is just a little sneaky peek so head on over to Kitty Bee Designs Blog to see the complete project!  You can also check out more inspiration using more Kitty Bee Digi stamps.  I hope you'll join in on the fun and enter a project...card/scrapbook project/altered item...looking forward to seeing what you create!  Also please leave a comment when entering your project to be entered twice into the random drawing!!

Use your stash and RIC

So we're almost to the end of the week and I'm looking forward to sharing my project using Kitty Bee Design for our next Aloha Friday Challenge...come back on Friday to be inspired!!!

As y'all know I'm a challenge junky and came across another fun challenge by Sweet Stamp Shop where their rules are to use your stash. What a great excuse to use what was lying around my messy...err creative desk!  Here's my semi embarrassing array of things needing to be used...

I cannot get rid of any pattern paper no matter how small...I know I will ALWAYS find use of each inch of it!  So that bit of paper was used with the die cut frame and of course the Sweet Stamp Shop set Get Fit.  I was inspired by the next Runway Inspired Challenge using this photo...

The colors and random images/fonts on her dress was what inspired me to come up with this card...

This card will be for my mom who I need to encourage every once in a while.  My mom suffered a stroke in April which has altered her whole lifestyle from eating habits to actual exercise.  We are sooo blessed the stroke was caught in time and that she will make almost a complete recovery.   I know she gets discouraged everyone once in a while, but think this card would give her a good laugh and remind her of staying on the healthy bandwagon!

The nurse in me wants to leave you with this quote: “The ‘I’ in illness is isolation, and the crucial letters in wellness are ‘we’.”  ~Author Unknown
Have a great day!
